eSpline has offered a 2-Day condensed version of the Basic VC Modeling Workshop since the fall of 2007. This offering was presented after the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and the recent 2012 North American CWG Conferences in Marco Island, FL (USA) and after the 2008, 2009 European CWG Conference in Berlin and was missed in the Vienna conference due to an Icelandic volcano in 2010. Over 25 different SAP VC customers have participated including: Modine, Thomson Reuters, Newport, Woodgrain Millworks, Hubbell, Charles Machine Works, Rexnord Industries, Tyco Electronics/ADC, MEI, Kennametal to name a few.
This Basic VC workshop takes the form of a "crash-course in VC" including hands-on creation of a variant configuration model from scratch and focusing on generally accepted best practices (use of declarative logic through constraints and variant tables). These workshops are oriented to the new or novice VC Modeler or someone trying to refresh their skills and have a focused workshop from trainers that have worked on real customer projects.
